In the end, the shades for the Volvelle were taken from the colours of the petals of meadow flowers, as identified by Jasmin Inkinen. The colours produced by carotenoids and anthocyanins – yellows, reds and blue-violets – dominate the palette of the meadows, with splashes of white here and there.
